During my last visit to Barcelona with my lifelong best friend I was strolling through the city and got the change to see a unique collaboration. While a local trio performed the Jazz standard " Honeysuckle Rose" which I believe was written and recorded by the great Harlem's Harmful Armful Fats Waller a couple started to dance, showing off their Charleston moves.
Yes indeed, "Honeysuckle Rose" is a 1929 song composed by Fats Waller with lyrics by Andy Razaf. It was introduced in the 1929 Off-Broadway revue "Load of Coal". I did my research. ;-) I started playing this song after learning it from the great Swedish fingerstyle guitar player Emil Ernebro. If you want to get better at fingerstyle guitar playing definitely check this guy out. You can find a lesson of the tune by Emil here (including very funny bloopers). Can't get enough of this tune.
