Whatever the case may be, I am here to help you! Let me introduce myself: my name is Laurens, I am an enthusiastic guitar teacher looking forward to sharing my knowledge with you. I teach in the Haarlem region and always make sure my guitar lessons are both challenging and fun for you and me.

You are a unique person. The road to guitar mastery is different for everyone. That is why my lessons are tailor-made. I teach every level of guitar players from beginners to more advanced players. Children and adults. Solo and groups. With one great advantage: you don’t even have to leave your house! I will stand any kind of weather and teach you at your own home. Of course If you prefer to come and visit me at my home, no problem. The choice is yours!

The most important thing you want to do with your guitar is play music. Making music is the base of my guitar lessons. From lesson one you will be able to play the songs you love and while you make progress, the songs you play will sound more delicate, ultimately making your guitar sound like a whole band is playing. Your friends and family will drop their jaws. Yes!
Yes an open door, just walk in. Attention is the most important thing throughout our lessons. I will pay close attention to the way you hold your guitar, your posture, your hand positions, your tone and expression. On the other hand you will have to pay close attention to the way I teach you to get the most out of your lessons. Some teachers I had lost their attention and were more focused on their own playing. Not me.
The style I am specialized in is fingerstyle guitar. This means you will learn to play complete songs on the guitar consisting of a bass, middle and melody part. You will be your own one (wo)man band! You will learn walking bass, boom-chick style and a lot of other techniques that will make your guitar come to life. You will learn any song you can think of!
The way I teach guitar will always be inspiring. Not only by playing the music you love. You also will learn different rhythms, using your hands on the guitar. Maybe we will whistle songs to practice your ear training. Also during our lessons you will learn music theory in a playful way, not by dreadfully playing scales and modes up and down the guitar neck. Anything goes to take you further!
The guitar is a delicate but demanding instrument. It is easy to put too much effort and strenght on your muscles. I will make sure to make you feel at ease and let your body and fingers be relaxed all the time. "One good thing about music, when it hits you feel no pain" - Bob Marley
One lesson (18 and older): € 35 for 45 minutes of fun (*)
One lesson (up to 18) : € 25 for 45 minutes of fun (*)
Group lessons : € 20 for 45 minutes of double fun (*)
Home and group lessons: your greatest advantage is that I will teach you from the comfort of your own home with your favorite coffee and on your own couch. No more travelling through the rain to get to the lesson in time. Pretty cool huh? Also group lessons with your family members is a great option. You will learn, practice and play together, impressing your friends. Yes! Of course if you want to visit me at my house you are more than welcome.
Days & Times: I am available as your teacher both weekdays and weekends, so I am quite flexible. Even if you are struggling with your work and leisure schedule; we will work out the best time and day.
Cancellations: Please do not try to cancel a scheduled lesson. Of course in case of emergency I will do my best to fit you into my schedule at a more convenient time. Note: If you cancel less than 24 hours before I will have to charge you for the lesson.
(*) If the traveling distance is more than 10 kilometers I charge a small amount for gasoline.
